Sprinkle over hummus, as a dip for pita bread, season your chicken, or top your Labneh.

Manakish ~ a warm, fluffy flatbread generously coated with Za’atar and Olive Oil

Recipe:
Gently warm 100ml milk and 200ml water (newborn baby bath water). Add 1 tbsp honey to your milk mixture, and 1 heaped tsp yeast. Stir and let this sit for 10 min.

In another bowl, add 3 cups of flour (I used bread flour) and 1 tsp salt.

Add your milk mix to your flour and mix by hand or using a fork. Once it is mixed through, then add 1 tbsp oil and knead until a smooth dough.

Cover your dough and let it rise (doubles in size)

Knock down your dough and divide into portions (I made 5 portions). Roll out and then generously coat it with Za’atar oil blend (2 tbsp spice, 75 ml olive oil)

Into a pre-heated oven, 200 deg for 10 - 12 minutes.

I also made one with danish feta.

Best eaten warm with creamy Labneh for dipping (see Instagram highlight reel for Labneh. I also saved the method of the Manakish to a highlight reel)

Zaatar
